Presentation of the White Paper on European transport policy

Loyola de Palacio del Valle-Lersundi, Vice-President of the EC in charge of the Relations with the European Parliament, Transport and Energy, and François Lamoureux, Director General for DG "Transport and Energy" of the EC, submitted the White Paper on European Transport Policy. The White Paper aims to transfrom transport and sustainable development by: Shifting the balance between modes of transport; eliminating bottlenecks; placing users at the heart of transport policy; managing the globalisation of transport

Conference on the intermodality of transport and the liberalisation of harbour services

Loyola de Palacio del Valle-Lersundi, Vice-President of the EC in charge of the Relations with the European Parliament, Transport and Energy, took part in a conference on combined transport and access to the harbour services market, organised at the Palazzo San Giorgio of Genoa, seat of the harbour authorities. She met Pierluigi Bersani, Italian Minister for Transport, Giuseppe Pericu, Mayor of Genoa and the various authorities' harbour representatives, in particular its President and the Harbourmaster.
